Dear Kearsley High School Families,
I want to make you aware of an incident that occurred at the high school today. Earlier this morning, the fire alarm was activated due to a faulty sensor. Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately evacuated the building while the situation was assessed.
To help keep students warm and out of the cold temperatures, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church graciously opened their gymnasium for students to wait in during the evacuation. We are extremely grateful for their partnership and support.
Our maintenance team is already working to correct the issue with the sensor to prevent future disruptions. The Genesee Township Fire Department responded quickly, inspected the building, and cleared it as safe for re-entry.
As always, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of Kearsley High School.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Go Hornets!
Dr. Dave Ersig
Principal
