We are proud to announce Kearsley's 2025 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshals - Brenda and Jim Duplanty! Together, Brenda and Jim have dedicated decades to supporting and protecting Kearsley students and staff.
A 1983 graduate of Kearsley High School, Brenda spent 30 years teaching sixth-grade math at Armstrong Middle School before retiring in 2022, later returning as a math tutor. She was known for her dedication to students and active service on numerous committees and union leadership teams.
After serving 30 years with the City of Burton Police Department, Jim joined Kearsley Schools as a hall monitor and security officer, eventually becoming the district’s Security Director—a role he held until his recent retirement after 14 years of service to our district.
Married for 38 years, they are the proud parents of three and love spending time with their children and grandchildren. Today, Brenda works as a substitute special education aide and Genesee Township trustee, while Jim works security for the Flint Institute of Music. They are honored and grateful to the Kearsley community for the opportunity to serve generations of students.
