DC Registration

Hello AMS 8th Grade Families,

At this time, we have to make a change to our registration process for the Washington, D.C. Trip. Unfortunately, we do not have enough students registered for 2 buses and registration has slowed down significantly. Based on past enrollment trends, it is a strong possibility that we will not meet our contracted enrollment of 78 students. We currently have:

  • 42 students registered with the deposit paid to secure their spot

  • 11 students registered but pending deposit to secure the trip

In order to protect the district from a large financial obligation to pay for unfilled spots on the trip, we are going to temporarily shift registration status for anyone who registers after this point.

  • If you have already registered and made your initial deposit, your student’s spot has been secured on the trip. Please continue making payments according to the payment schedule to avoid your student being moved to the waitlist.

  • If you have already registered your student but have not yet paid the deposit, your student may be moved to a “waitlist status” as we only have 2 spots available on Bus 1. Once moved to the waitlist, you will not be able to make payments. However, we encourage you to save the money you would be using to make payments so you are ready to make a payment if/when a spot becomes available for your student.

  • If you have not registered your student yet, please still register him/her. We will continue to monitor registration closely. If we have enough students registered on the waitlist, we will be able to add the 2nd bus back to the trip and open up spots for waitlisted students.

If/when additional spots become available, any students on the waitlist will be added to the trip in the order they registered. It is important that you are ready to make a payment at that time in order to secure your student’s spot on the trip.

We appreciate your support and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are doing everything we can to make sure the trip is possible for all of our AMS 8th graders who wish to attend.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Temple
